Some individuals can experience a wide range of emotional reactions based on this trauma of infertility: anger, sadness, pain, clinical depression and anxiety, and loss/grief. However, additionally to psychological implications of infertility, many women also experience shame, a sense of not belonging, loss of control, loss of competency as women, loss of intimacy and privacy. Some individuals and their partners are also faced with multiple decisions regarding medical interventions and advanced reproductive treatments including the use of donor eggs/sperm and embryo. These advanced treatments can be challenging to navigate in regards to one’s personal beliefs, family beliefs, privacy and personal ethics. Many individuals/couples struggle and suffer through many of these obstacles in silence. Sadly, mainly due to shame and in fear of judgment.

 

This support and psychotherapy group offers a safe, non-judgmental place for individuals and their partners to  explore and meet others struggling with IVF as opposed to suffering in silence. 

 

In addition to group therapy, I offer services for individuals and couples experiencing infertility issues.

EDMONTON ENDOMETRIOSIS SUPPORT/PSYCHOTHERAPY GROUP- offers a space for individuals diagnosed with Endometriosis to process. There are many life changing complications that can emerge. It can affect your emotional/physical health i.e.: grief, loss, anger ,sadness, frustration, anxiety/depression, chronic pain, negative body image, intimacy issues, fertility and relationships.
